Selling your service business, without handing it to strangers.

You built it over years. If you are thinking about retiring or stepping back, North River Holdings buys established Oregon service businesses to keep them running: your name, your team, and your customers stay in place.

Who this page is for

You own an established service business in Oregon or the Pacific Northwest: landscaping, property services, home services, or a similar trade. The business is profitable, your customers trust you, and you have a team you care about. What you do not have is a successor, and the thought of an auction, an out of state buyer, or simply closing the doors does not sit right.

That is exactly the situation North River exists for. We are a local, permanent buyer. We buy a business to own it for the long term, run it well, and grow it in the community it already serves.

What stays the same after a sale

Your name

The business keeps operating under the name your customers know. We do not rebrand what you built or fold it into a national chain.

Your team

Your people keep their jobs and their roles. The team is the business, and a handoff that loses them loses the thing worth buying.

Your customers

Relationships carry on with the same familiar faces, supported by a modern back office for scheduling, billing, and marketing so the crew can focus on the work.

How the process works

It starts with a confidential conversation, by phone or over coffee. No obligation, no pressure, and nothing you share goes anywhere else. If there is a fit, we look at the financials together and talk price and terms in plain language, based on the real earnings of the business. If the numbers work for both sides, you get a clear written offer with a transition plan, and you stay involved for as long as you want to be involved. Many owners start this conversation a year or two before they actually want to sell. That is fine, and usually wise.

Common questions

Do I need a broker to talk to you?

No. Many owners talk to us directly, and some prefer to work through a broker or advisor. Either way is fine with us, and if you already have a broker, we work with them gladly.

What happens to my employees?

They stay. We buy businesses with teams in place, and keeping your crew is part of the point. Your customers keep the people they know.

How is the price worked out?

From the real earnings of the business, discussed openly with you. No games, no inflated promises, and no pressure to decide on the spot. If the fit or the price is not right, a straight answer early is better for everyone.

How long does a sale take?

Most move at a pace the owner sets. A straightforward sale can close in a few months, and a longer, planned transition over a year or more is just as common.

What if I am not ready yet?

Talk to us anyway. Knowing your options early makes the eventual decision easier, and a first conversation commits you to nothing.

Will this stay confidential?

Yes. Your team, your customers, and your competitors hear nothing from us. Confidentiality is how we do every conversation, whether or not a sale follows.
